Current and Voltage Sensor - CVS
CVS is a device designed for checking of currents and voltages, measured in controlled electrical circuits. It consists of CVS-M (Measurement) module and CVS-E (Evaluation) module. A ground-shielded 37 wires cable terminated by CANON connectors connects these modules together.
Wires of measured circuits are led through current transformers placed on CVS-M module. The CVS-E module is usually connected by a modbus RS485 line to the master module MPM. MPM module then evaluates information about the measured circuits and reports failures.
CVS is both hardware and software configured. There are switches to set the communication parameters and modbus address. Connected software than configures the range of measured current, saves correct values of power load to a non-volatile memory.
The device evaluates both the current and the voltage, which is the reason, why a calibration assignment of measured voltage phase to every transformer is necessary. Information about actual state and measured values can be read by means of a modbus RS485 line.
In FARCOM system is the CVS module usually put on the subsidiary RS485 line, which is mastered by a MPM module. There can be connected up to 6 CVS-E modules to one MPM module. One CVS-E is prepared to control 12 currents with 3 different voltages.
